There are so many talented musicians making soundtracks and loops for games, TV and more. Unfortunately a bespoke soundtrack is well outside my budget as a new developer.
At the moment I’m creating quick and simple games that are sold either free or very cheap so there is no budget left for music or artwork.
That’s why I turned to GarageBand – a free tool for Apple devices that includes Virtual Instruments and a brilliant loop library. I’ve used it for game sounds, FX and soundtrack creation.
Apple confirmed on their website you are free to user GarageBand songs or sounds in commercial projects- you just can’t download the loops and sell them on as a loop package.
I’ve got one game on the App Store already that was made with a GarageBand soundtrack and another in development. You can have the tracks for free under a Public Domain CC0 licence to use in your own projects.
